The Problem

There has been an alarming rise in youth suicide over the previous four decades. During this period, the suicide of young men had tripled while for young women it had doubled. Suicide is currently the third leading cause of death among young people age 15 to 24.

The Solution Offered by National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline works to combat this rise in suicide rates by providing free and confidential emotional support for anyone experiencing a suicidal crisis or emotional distress. These critical services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and focus on person-centered care. NSPL also educates the public about mental health and wellbeing, to prevent suicidal crises before they begin.
