Hey World Changers, do you know what each symbol on our American Flag represents? Let's refresh our grammar school social studies skills!

Our flag has 13 stripes, representing the original 13 colonies.  The stars represent the 50 states in our union.  The red, white, and blue colors have special meaning as well:

  • Red symbolizes hardiness & valor.

  • White represents purity & innocence.

  • Blue represents justice, vigilance, & perseverance.

This flag has been our standard since August 21, 1959, when President Eisenhower awarded 17-year-old Robert G. Heft’s design be raised as our country’s representative.
